PATRIC when you called me it sounded like it was not your turbo. We have had the same issue with many cars that people thought they in the turbo but the clip that holds the actuator on the wastegate that cost less than a dollar fixes the problem. I always try to give my customer’s the best value for the dollar nothing was done intentionally to try to get you in, only talk to you on the phone to try to help you not hurt you. I’m sorry for the confusion but when you called me I did have somebody check to see if we had the turbo and then I called you back and said yes we have it unfortunately that turbo looks just like an Tfsi turbo which comes in a GTI and intern it was for a earlier FSI. Although your car does have over 216,000 miles on your 2011 VW GTI, It looks very well-maintained and as you stated you changed your oil every 10,000 miles and your CARFAX confirmed that. When my technician drove of it you could hear the arm that hooks to waste gate to the actuator was rattling. So we installed one once your car going to cooled down. I did indeed had a used turbo two days before that would fit your car. I can understand you would not want to spend over $2500 for a brand new turbo on a car that has 200.000 miles. It was my fault for telling you that we did have the turbo in stock I was not aware that somebody else had used it. If you did speak to one of my service advisors and they said you needed a new turbo there’s no way if I was there I would’ve let that happened I can source a used Turbo for you for much less even though I don’t have it myself.
